We can no longer ignore Climate Change – it is unequivocally the biggest single threat we are facing today as a global society.

The sobering and quite frankly terrifying report published last week by the IPCC warns that “If we do not halt our emissions soon, our future climate could well become some kind of hell on Earth,”. It couldn’t have been clearer - the planet in now overheating like never before.

So, as businesses what do we need to do practically to tackle this incredible challenge?

On 22nd September at 11:00am BST Wavelength's SpeakersHub are bringing together one of the UK’s most accomplished sustainability practitioners and two pioneering social entrepreneurs for an in-depth discussion on this key topic. Joining us will be:

Hilary Berg

Hilary is Responsible Business Advisor to Iceland Foods, driving the business’s Sustainability and CSR agenda, and has unparalleled experience in what large corporates can tangibly do to significantly progress their CSR agendas. She has twice been named ‘UK outstanding independent practitioner’ by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and her work has won multiple industry awards.

Tessa Clarke

Co-Founder of the multi award-winning OLIO who are embracing leading edge technology to exponentially reduce food waste in partnership with leading retailers such as Tesco and Pret. In 2018 OLIO’s pioneering work was recognised by the United Nations as an example of a truly scalable solution to the problem of climate change, and given a coveted “Momentum for Change” award.

Some areas we will be discussing:

  • Is it already too late and if not what can leaders do to make a bigger difference?

  • Is stakeholder capitalism the answer or can shareholder capitalism deliver what this planet needs?

  • What are the risks and rewards of brand activism?

  • What is B Corp and what role can B Corp certification play in helping drive lasting change?

  • How should responsible leaders make decisions?

  • Can responsible organisations compete with companies which “don’t give a damn”?

Join us for what will be a fantastically engaging, moderated discussion on arguably the single most pressing issue facing the world and businesses today.
